The Interreg III and IV Franco-British cross-border co-operation programmes are funded by European Regional Development Funds (ERDF) and managed by the Haute-Normandie regional authorities.

Thousands of projects have been part of the programme and will continue to build up a Franco-British cross-border space, full of a wealth of exchanges and sharing.

This programme is within the scope of the "European Territorial Co-operation" objective of the EU Cohesion Policy of the European Union.

It is provided with a budget of € 173.5 million. This Interreg IVA France (Channel/Manche) - England programme aims to promote the emergence - between the French and English parties - of a space of common citizenship, fostering a sense of belonging to a cross-border area, and endowed with a specific identity.

To make a success of this project, four absolute musts have been defined.

It is essential that the projects making a claim for a subsidy fall within one of these:

-Reinforce the sense of belonging to a common space and the awareness of shared interests.

-Build partnerships between players involved in cross-border economic development, and between centres of excellence.

-Build an attractive common space to live in and visit.

-Ensure the sustainable environmental development of the common space.
